C’mon, let’s be honest. How many of us thought Paris Baguette was from Paris when it first landed on our shores, when it actually originates from South Korea? Now, a popular dessert cafe chain in Korea called cafe BomBom has swung its doors open at Tampines 1 on 1 October 2022, adding another fragment of their culture to Singapore.

I’m sure you’ve come across French macarons, but have you heard of bomcarons? They’re actually thicker and bigger in size. cafe BomBom’s Bomcaron (S$4.90) comes in five different flavours, which are Oreo, Cheddar, Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate.

Needless to say, a Korean dessert cafe will not be complete without the famous bowls of shaved ice with various sweet toppings— yeah, I’m referring to bingsu!

There are four types of bingsu that are available on their menu, which are served in cups over here. The choices include Chocolate Bing Su, Strawberry Bing Su, K-Ogok Bing Su and Dalgona Bing Su (S$7.60 each).

There’s also New York Cheese Cake (S$8.50 per slice), which in my opinion is one of the best desserts ever made!

Be prepared to be overwhelmed (in a good way) by their towering selection of drinks which includes lattes, sodas, yoghurt smoothies, frappes, coffee and other signature drinks.

Some of the recommended drinks to get are the Mango Smoothie (S$7.80), Iced Mint Cream Chocolate Latte (S$7.20), Sweet Potato Latte (S$6 for hot, S$6.90 for iced), Hot Hazelnut Latte (S$6) and Iced Orange Blanc (S$6.50) (a refreshing non-caffeine mixed cream drink with a citrus kick).

So, visit cafe BomBom at Tampines 1 for a taste of Korea without the need of purchasing an air ticket— sounds good to me!
