Some of you may remember that we featured Prima Deli’s limited edition cookies & cream waffles five months ago, and they were available till 31 Jul 2022. If you’ve been dreaming about them ever since, here’s a piece of good news. A little birdy told me that CocoLush, an independent coconut shake stand located at Yishun Bus Interchange sells these exclusive flavoured waffles, so I rushed down to check them out.

Anxiety started to set in when the stall was no where in sight after exploring half of the premises. I continued walking towards the direction of the Yishun Town Square exit and there it was!

With warm lightbulbs surrounding its signboard, CocoLush is located directly in front of berth B8, where you can board bus services 801 and 804.

It’s essentially a beverage stand selling 13 varieties of coconut shakes like Classic Coconut Shake (S$4.40 for medium, S$5.40 for large) and other selections. On top of that, you can treat yourself to their assortment of waffles.

Besides spotting flavours like Peanut (S$2), Chocolate (S$2.20) and Hazelnut (S$2.50), my main objective was to try out their most expensive item on the waffle menu: Cookies & Cream (S$2.80).

As the service staff opened the lid of the waffle maker, the fragrant aroma permeated the air in the air-conditioned bus interchange. Simply divine! He proceeded to spread a thick layer of whipped cream before pouring out the Oreo cookie crumbs.

My go-to flavour would have been the peanut butter, so ordering something different for a change was pretty exciting for me. The waffle was nice and warm and is best eaten when freshly-made.

The surface of the waffle was nice and crispy while the insides were moist and fluffy. The smooth whipped cream was slightly sweet and paired really well with the Oreo cookie bits which provided a lovely infusion of chocolatey goodness. The bigger chunks gave it a textural bite as well.

Overall, the Cookies & Cream waffle makes a really good snack/dessert when you need a little pick-me-up in between meals and I’ll recommend Yishunites and others in the area to give CocoLush a try!
