Samgyetang is the ultimate hearty Korean soup. Translating to ‘Korean ginseng soup’, this traditional dish features a whole organic chicken stuffed with nourishing Korean glutinous rice, submerged in a broth of restorative aged ginseng. It’s considered a must-try when travelling to South Korea.

Many restaurants have it, but no other has 10 variations like BOMUL Samgyetang in CHIJMES.

Bomul Samgyetang - restaurant entrance

BOMUL Samgyetang is the brainchild of two South Korean men who met in the military and bonded over their shared love of food. They decided to open a restaurant to share this love, bringing healthy recipes that both satisfy your appetite and warm your soul.

The interior of BOMUL Samgyetang is a charming blend of traditional Korean architecture combined with modern minimalist aesthetics. There are jars of ginseng and various other herbs around the premises.

Bomul Samgyetang - spread of dishes

BOMUL Samgyetang offers the largest variety of samgyetang bowls in Singapore, boasting an impressive 10 variations. Don’t worry about reading off complex Korean dish names, as all samgyetang bowls have very direct names. Collagen (S$29)Vitality (S$40), and Detox (S$32) are among the titles.

Bomul Samgyetang - rejuvenation samgyetang

Check out their Rejuvenation (S$36) samgyetang, a ginseng chicken soup fused with aged black garlic to give it deep layers of caramelisation. You’ll notice that most soups in BOMUL Samgyetang are uniquely much thicker than samgyetangs in other restaurants, which makes every bowl a savoury treat.

Bomul Samgyetang - energy samgyetang

Their Energy (S$36) samgyetang features a light, nutty flavour from Korean Beefsteak leaves infused into the soup, a herb with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

My personal favourite was their Black Truffle (S$38) samgyetang, because you can never go wrong with truffles. You can also enjoy their premium Anti-Ageing (S$79 for 2 pax) samgyetang, with tender octopus tentacles and fresh abalone accompanying the chicken and soup.

Bomul Samgyetang - spice cure samgyetang

I asked the owners which sameyetang was their favourite, and they told me it was the Spicy Cure (S$32). Let the punchy heat cure your ailments with a ginseng chicken soup infused with extra spicy chilli peppers and enoki mushrooms. The chicken was especially tender with this variant, making the bowl even more comforting.

Bomul Samgyetang - Ddukaglbi, chicken feet, & porridges

Pair your samgyetang with scrumptious sides like a Duck and Chicken Ddukgalbi (S$32) and Spicy Chicken Feet (S$18). Or, indulge in Samgyejuk, a wholesome slow-cooked glutinous rice porridge that comes in Healthy (S$22)Maesaengi Abalone (S$29), and Pumpkin (S$25) variants. You can ever get some Ginseng or Black Sesame ice cream (S$6 per scoop).

BOMUL Samgyetang opens 27 Nov 2025, with a generous 1-for-1 samgyetang opening promotion from the day itself till 6 Dec 2025. Kids also eat free Sun to Tue from 7 Dec 2025 onwards, where every samgyetang order comes with a mini-porridge, 1 piece of Ddukgalbi, and a canned drink for your little one.

Don’t visit this hawker centre closing for renovation on 1 Dec
