Just as hawker culture is ever-integral to Singapore’s food scene, old school biscuit stores like Good Old Days have just as much of an imprint in many of our every day lives. When was the last time you saw rows and rows of biscuit tins, each touting tidbits of various textures, flavours, and forms? Initially established three months ago along Yishun Ring Road, Good Old Days biscuit store has opened their second outlet at Marine Terrace.
Those who have dearly missed the biscuits of their childhood no longer have to make the trip all the way to Yishun anymore. The newly-opened joint in the east spells relief for many who long for a familiar taste of wafer biscuits and butter cookies peppered with nostalgia.
In the nick of time for the fast-approaching Lunar New Year, Good Old Days is selling over 50 types of Chinese New Year cookies, all at incredibly affordable prices. The goodies start at S$4, and go up to S$12. On top of that, there are bundle deals going at S$10 for three bottles of cookies, only on selected flavours.
The range of flavours here are quite unparalleled—with almost anything ranging from love letters to kuih bangkit. Even if you don’t celebrate the Lunar New Year in the most conventional sense, there’s never a bad time to stock up on snacks to accompany you during your work from home arrangement, or just to build your personal stash of nibbles to tide you through late-night Netflix sessions.
If you know someone who’d jump at the thought of getting their hands on these nostalgic cookies once more, be sure to send this their way and let them know the good news. If you’re looking for more new in town news, check out Sweet Hut, a newly-opened dessert place in Geylang open until 4am daily.
